How it works

Three steps. One key.

  1. 01

    Hold the key

Hold your dictation key in any app: Mail, Slack, your editor, a browser, or a Remote Desktop window. Choose your dictation key in Settings.

  2. 02

    Talk

A small bubble shows your words as you go. Whisper transcribes them on your Mac.

  3. 03

    Let go

Cleanup drops the ums and false starts and fixes punctuation. The text is pasted where your cursor is, and your clipboard is put back.

What cleanup does, and doesn't. It removes filler words, false starts and "no wait, I mean" corrections, and fixes punctuation and capitals. Every result is checked against what you said, and a cleanup that adds words or numbers is thrown out. If it isn't sure, or takes longer than about 3 seconds, you get your raw words. Didn't like a cleanup? Undo right after and choose Paste raw instead. Prefer it untouched? Turn on raw mode.

Remote Desktop

Dictate straight into your Remote Desktop session.

If your workday happens inside a remote session, Siftla still works. Dictate on your Mac and the clean text is pasted into the remote window you're working in, through Microsoft's Remote Desktop app for Mac.

  • Same key, same bubble, same cleanup
  • Paste timing you can adjust for slow connections
  • Your voice is still transcribed on your Mac

The text passes through the remote computer's clipboard.

FAQ

Questions

Which Macs does it run on?

Dictation runs on macOS 13.3 or later. On-device cleanup needs a Mac with Apple silicon running macOS 26 or later, with Apple Intelligence turned on and set to a supported language. On other Macs, Offline pastes your transcribed words without cleanup, and Pro can use Claude cleanup.

Is the transcription perfect?

No dictation is. Accuracy depends on your microphone, accent, background noise and vocabulary. Cleanup edits your wording, so check anything important before you send it. Paste raw instead is always one click away.

Does cleanup ever make things up?

No. Every cleanup is checked against what you actually said. If the result adds words or numbers you didn't say, or looks like an answer rather than an edit, Siftla pastes your raw words instead.

Do I need an Anthropic account for Pro?

Yes, for Claude cleanup. You create an API key at Anthropic and paste it into Settings. Anthropic charges you directly for what you use. Without a key, Pro still offers on-device cleanup and raw mode.

What does the Claude API cost?

Under $0.0002 per 60-word dictation, and under $1 a month at 150 dictations a day, at Anthropic's current Claude Haiku 5.5 prices, including its US-only processing rate. Anthropic bills your own account directly. Siftla adds no markup.

Estimate based on Anthropic's published Claude Haiku 5.5 pricing as of November 2026 and 60-word dictations. Your actual cost depends on how much you dictate and Anthropic's current rates.

Does it work with Remote Desktop?

Yes. Siftla pastes clean text straight into Microsoft's Windows App (Remote Desktop) sessions from your Mac, just like any other app. If a session is slow, you can adjust the paste timing in Settings.

Which key do I hold?

Choose from Right Option, Right Command, Right Control, Right Shift, Fn/Globe or F13–F15 in Settings.

What happens to my clipboard?

Siftla puts your clipboard back the way it was right after it pastes.

Is there a subscription?

No. Both plans will be one-time purchases. Updates will arrive through the app's built-in updater.

Why isn't it on the Mac App Store?

Typing into other apps needs a global hotkey and a paste command, and the App Store's sandbox doesn't allow them. Siftla will be signed and notarized by Apple for direct download.

What happens if I'm offline?

Dictation and on-device cleanup work offline. Your license checks in from time to time. If it can't for 30 days, cleanup pauses and dictation keeps working.

When can I buy it?

Siftla isn't on sale yet. Pricing is final: Offline is $14.99, Pro is $24.99, and upgrading from Offline to Pro is $10.
